Malioboro, The Shopping Paradise and Central of Java Historical Culture


Malioboro is the name of the street in the city of Yogyakarta which extends from the Tugu of Yogyakarta to Yogyakarta Post Office which consists of Prince Mangkubumi Road and Prince A. Yani Road, this is a road axis Imaginer The Sultan's Palace.
There are a number of historical objects in this road, they are Tugu Palace, Tugu Railway Station, the State Palace Building, Beringharjo Traditional Market, Vredeburg Fortress and Monuments of March 1 Attack.
This road is very popular with the merchants who peddle pavement typical Yogyakarta craft stalls and on road stall at night selling food like Gudeg Jogja as typical food of Yogyakarta and popular as place for gathering of artists who often exhibit their ability to play music, painting, happening art, mime and others along the way of Maliboro.

  1. Yogyakarta airport, using taxi is an easy and comfort media. but you should have enough budget. Another media is Trans Jogja Bus, it will bring you to Malioboro with low price. only 3.000 IDR.
  2. Tugu Train Station, it's only about 100meters to Malioboro. Just walk to East Direction, Malioboro is in South side of Tugu Train Station. Ask people for directing you to Malioboro. Or you can use padicab.
  3. Giwangan Bus Station, an easy media to bring you is Trans Jogja Bus. with low price and comfort Bus, you will be in Malioboro directly.
